More Than Just Pictures - Authentic Storytelling Portraiture That Captures Your Story

Every family is different. The dynamics that make up a family are unique to each one. Yet, I've found a common thread - every family has a story to tell.

As a mother of eight + four blended through marriage, I learned how important it was to capture my family's story after most of my children were in their teens and wanted to share updated portraits with my parents and family who live far away. By this time, I was wishing I could go back in time and capture better portraits of family moments, not just forced smiles and poses.

Over the years of developing my style, I realize how important it is to have an heirloom to pass down for future generations, and how many families do not currently have this treasured keepsake. My mission is to provide beautiful family portraiture that tells your unique story and to print these keepsake images for albums and wall portraits.

The Steps To Capturing Your Family Story

Before booking a family, I send a questionnaire to get to know them better. The questions I ask will help me know how to develop a rapport with each member once we finally meet in person. Once we meet, I'll take the first few minutes to introduce myself to each family member - even to babies! You might find that I'm an expert at baby jibberish and silliness! My genuine love for life and people gives me a unique perspective, allowing me to document minute details as well as the big picture to curate your family narrative. We'll choose a beautiful location and your session will include candid as well as gently posed images. A Welcome Guide will be sent after you've secured your spot on my calendar, guiding you through the next steps and even providing tips for styling your wardrobe. After your session, your professionally retouched images will be ready for viewing in approximately two weeks. Don't worry, I usually send a sneak peek well before then so you can have an idea of what your gallery will look like.

Due to the constraints of COVID, I make sure to stay masked during every session. You'll receive a COVID liability form along with your Model Release form to sign electronically when booking. Your final gallery will be emailed as a link to view, and I'll set up a Zoom shortly after to go through your favorite images together. This is the time for us to decide which groupings look best for your home as well as determine if an heirloom storybook album is a keepsake you'd like to have for future generations. To make it easier for busy families, I curate a digital album that tells your story prior to the Zoom meeting so you can preview your gorgeous family highlighted moments. A part of the meeting time will also be dedicated to viewing a custom video slideshow allowing you to relive the cherished details of your family bond. If you choose, this personalized video can be purchased as a keepsake on USB or DVD.
