Audra & Michael | A Sweet Seventeen Anniversary Session | 20th Century Theatre

Hello, Friends!

I've got another sweet love story for you - courtesy of these two love birds that allowed me to photograph their session to create custom Save the Dates.  Meet Audra and Michael, getting ready to celebrate their seventeenth wedding anniversary this December.  They've planned their renewal to take place at 20th Century Theatre in Hyde Park.  I thought it was such an awesome idea when Audra told me the theatre would post a marquee in honor of their renewal just for their photo session!  If you can't tell, they had a lot of fun!

It was really nice having a little park directly across the street, which set the perfect scene for these two lovebirds.  It was an added plus when I scouted the area before they arrived and noticed the flag.  Michael is a U.S. Army veteran and it seemed to be a perfect backdrop for some of the poses.  Audra has been strong through Michael being deployed to Afghanistan while she was in nursing school.  She even shared that Michael didn't get to attend her graduation because of his deployment.  Kudos to Audra for her tenacity and a huge thank you to Michael for his service to our country.

Need some marriage advice?  Take it from these two lovebird veterans!

Angenise: What would you say has been your secret sauce for staying married this long?

Audra: Get tune ups on occasion (such as marriage retreats or group counseling with other married couples) and remember to date each other.

Angenise: What was the biggest struggle you had to overcome and how did you rise above it.

Audra: Communication without always compromising has been our biggest struggle.  Because if each person is busy compromising, the other partner didn't get what they fully wished or wanted.  Letting the other person have their way sometimes to keep the peace and see them happy goes a long way!

I am super happy for Audra and Michael!  After all, we've known each other since college at the University of Cincinnati (wooo-weee, bringing back memories)!

One of the greatest joys of my job as a photographer is to get to know my clients on a deeper level in order to truly capture the essence of their legacy.  If you have a special life event that needs to be captured, get in touch to book your session.  I just love capturing love!

Until next time, be blessed.

From my heart to yours,

Angenise
